Default asus eeepc 1000h/xp - support cd/dvd needed

    Hi

I'm having trouble finding the support dvd/cd that was meant to come with this pc to factory reset/reinstall anywhere online to download

My friend wants me to fix it for him and i found out there is no partition on this model just a support disc from the online manual

I tried asus but still no answer after a couple of days

if anyone can help or steer me in the right direction for one that will be great

    Thanks
    Serg

    g'day sergei,
Asus eepc's dont come with support cd's. theres actually a recovery partition on them i believe. check your manual for instructions but im pretty sure you have to press a function key while booting and it will boot into the recovery mode which will reload your primary C:\ partition to factory defaults. I think it might be f8 or f9. best of luck mate.

Thanks for the quick reply but as i said i did read the manual and for some strange reason this model has a recovery disc not a partition

Been reading other posts on other forums that confirm my situation but they complain about spending the extra money to buy an external usb drive wich is what is in the manual on how to reinstall it back again

    Thanks

I could do you a copy of mine but it is a different model.
If you ring there support number an automated message shall give you an email address you can post your enquiry to and they usually respond in a day or so.
    Cheers Marty

Sergei , you can download the drivers and use nlite to slipstream them into a bootable usb stick with xp on it. the drivers from asus will self install from there. will dig up the links on how to do this. cheers
