there must be something that NewCS offers - but I dont know what it is - just an extra layer to get wrong for mine.

why do you want a wintel machine involved ? could you not just do that on a DM?
way off topic mate. the question was about a 7020 not a humax (or many other set top boxes that like the humax need a PC plugged into it via serial - which all kind of defeats the purpose IMHO that is why we use DM boxes) , but thanks anyway now I know why you like itcan Cccam have a humax connect to it?

To have the card load "managed".
Why use an embedded irdeto box?
Cause Austar supply them and people like their remote controls and menu features.
How can I make an Austar box interface to a Cccam server?
I can't...and neither can you.
But I can make an Austar STB work with Newcs and a season interface or BF430 virtual com port.
