Default ADSL2+ fast upload speed needed

I've rang a couple of ISP's & the fastest upload service that they can provide me with is, they say up to 1mb upload speed.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a faster than 1mb upload ADSL+ service & who is providing it.

    Thanks

I was reading something about Annex M which provides faster upload but I cant remember the speed. I think Internode offer it.

thanks for the reply, 3mb is really quick for an upload speed but it needs to be an ADSL service in this case.

    cheers

I just rang them & the Annex M service is not available on all exchanges & they have no plans to upgrade the guildford exchange that I'm connected to.

Sounded promissing there for a while.

    cheers

It might be worth a search over at Whirlpool to see who else does it. I know Aanet are trialling it at the moment but I dont know who else.

ADSL2+ data rates can be as high as 24 Mbit/s downstream and up to 3.5 Mbit/s upstream depending on the distance from the DSLAM to your home. Line quality will also distort these figures.

Speed is only a guide, you have to remember, if you live in an area where your provider is highly populated then your bandwidth is shared amongst all users in that exchange.

You may be better off looking at SHDSL service which have upto a 4mb/4mb connection (and not as populated as ADSL services), the only downside is you cannot run a traditional POTS on the same line as it uses the entire bandwidth of the copper pair.

iiNet is offering Annex M on their business plans. See if your exchange has their ports available.

Lots of legit reasons to need higher upstream pipes !! Not everyone is a super duper movie torrent feeder.

As IntelliGeorge said, you may need to look at SHDSL / Business grade feeds.
