    Default Best DDNS Services

    Hi

    Just wondering what free dynamic dnd services other uses. Need to set a few up, what is the easiest to setup?

    by a mile......they even have a downloadable update client for free.

    highly recommended.

    Yep, DynDNS, some dlink routers even have an update client built in... Can't go wrong.

    I agree, DynDns is the only service that is support by the majority of modems manufactures by default & It always works.

    sounds like dyndns it is then, seemed to the popular choice in my readings. So if the router does not support it, u need to install client software on a pc???

    Yeah, it's a small package that updates automatically when your IP address changes. Just sits in the system tray. You can start it as a system service so if you log off, or you have your system set to power on after AC fail it will start automatically...

    If I have multiple pc's in the network, does only one pc have to have the software installed?

    most modem/routers have the dyndns option in its setup

    Yeah, you only need to run it on 1 PC, all it does is update your ISP dns address to whatever it currently is. then all you do is port forwarding to the right PC.
    I have VNC running on 3 PC's and 1 running an FTP server and HTTP server but DynDns on 1 PC only.

    Has an update client thing as well.

    Have had a few different routers/computers and have never had a problem.
