Default Changing from TADAust dialup to ADSL Any reccommendations?

After a daunting past couple of months with tadaust connect and their dialup outages ive had enough from this crappy internet service and the amount of phone calls wasted to get online. Ive been doing alot of reading on whirlpool and here and i was close to getting TPG internet but after the bashing this ISP has gotten with too many people experiencing dropouts and slow speeds is it really worth joing this ISP? Are they as bad as some make them out to be? What other options with cheap pricing like TPG is there?
    Thanks

I have most of my Family and Friends on TPG, don't really have any issues. I cannot remember the last time I had to call support...

For quality and support ( if needed ) its hard to go past Internode.

But whats your budget and spped/download allowance ? And is ADSL2 available to you ?

if big download limits are needed TPG or Exetel (i use exetel) are the go, ive used both and never had any issues.

Well im not going to be a kid in a candy shop and go ballistic on downloading but i would like at least 12 gigs to download occasional songs or vids.
ADSL 2 is available where i am. Thing is i wont be here for much longer moving in the next few months and where im moving to there is adsl 2 there as well so that wont be a problem but i know i will have to fork out $99 when i relocate which is a bummer.

Can you guys that are on TPG post your net speeds here? WHat are you getting on average during peak hours say between the afternoon hours of 4pm - midnight? Id be interested to know. I know alot have posted on whirlpool with speeds of 500kb during peak hours that seems a bit low for adsl2 doesnt it?

    Im with Sanity.

I just switched from a 1500k plan with Internode to one of their new "fast adsl 1" plans. Billing period rolled over today and from an actual speed of 1300k i now have 6Mb/s with 15gb of downloads for $59/m.

I am a reseller for both TPG and Exetel and up until recently I was an Internode ADSL1 user.

The benefit of Internode is that when you call for support you get to speak to someone in Australia. I don't know the support hours but I do recall calling them on weekends in the past. However you will pay a little more for this service.

Out of TPG and Exetel you can't go past Exetel. On Whingepool you will read the same old people bitching when in actual fact they have left years ago. It's a very small percentage of people.

I always install Exetel over TPG for ADSL1 and ADSL2 when possible however TPG are just as good. The only reason I choose Exetel in most cases is that their plans are usually better.

If you sign up through Exetel, you use them for support (sri lanka). If you are kind enough to use me, then I'll support you with whatever you need. Just PM me.
