    Default fixing your alarm

look for a local company close to where you live. Preferably a smaller company who should know about customer service. 6+6 should not give you too much trouble. If you want to PM me with some more details I will try to assist you to get your system working again.

I think if you read it again its says "preferably" I didn't say anything about skilled technicians or not having any idea...maybe you know something about big companies that you should share with us...

As far as customer service, a small local businesses serve their customers better than large companies who are sometimes not even in the same state or country when talking to customers !! Without mentioning any names !!

I am sure there is good and bad on both sides of the argument. Small or large companies.... some are brilliant some are pathetic. Of we look hard enough we would find examples of both in every state.
I thought forums were open opinions of individuals and in this instance the original task was to help the guy out with his 6+6 panel not to go off on some tangent about large and small companies...

you seem a bit touchy keef. Chill out, i dont think goldstorm was having a go at you personally or any big Company. He just mentioned that smaller companies may have better service for your day to day, fix it NOW kind of person.

    Cool

This seems to be a recurring point of contention. If you stand back a bit & have a good look at it from the customers point of view, there are are few ponts that stand out.

Some of the larger companies are going to charge an arm and a leg just to show up at the front door & if it is after hours then you will have to take out a mortgage to pay. Now I know that they will have large overheads. With a few exceptions it is not about quality of work (replacing a fuse doesn't allow for variations in quality - it is all the same ) It is about cost of the work & availability to do the work.

Surfing if you want your panel serviced by a local person living within the mentioned areas at a very reasonable price pm me as after 30 years or more servicing security equipment a solution 6+6 is a very simple sytem to service.

    Just here to help

Cerification is just a basic thing and does not guarentee you a experienced person.

I know of people that a cabling licence (certified) and can not wire a mode 3 socket let stand follow the relevant cabling regulations.

Being listed in the Yellow Pages is also a fast as they state that their advertisers under a particular heading, and qualifications claimed by that advertiser, do not necessarely indicate that the advertiser is legally entitled or professionally qualified to carry on a particular trade , buisiness or profession

All comes down to having a piece of paper but in most cases limited qualifications as in qld there is no regulation to have any trade qualifications to install or service security sytems.
