PAL / NTSC issue??
I have a Pacom DVR with an IDIS X016 V3.2 capture card which was originally loaded with Win98.
It has since been upgraded to WinXP and XP drivers in an attempt to get rid of an issue where the captured images are black and white with a section from the bottom of the captured image appearing at the top. Also the live video jumps back and forward between frames.
Changing video cards and drivers has made no difference.
Anyone have any ideas?!

PAL / NTSC issue??
Thanks for your reply madtech. Feeds from either a camcorder, dvd player or full body camera all produce the same fault.
Spot monitor shows clean sharp video
you misunderstood me i think. Have a look at the settings and make sure it is set for PAL type video rather than NTSC.
Sorry madtech, all the devices feeding the DVR are set to PAL and the capture card is also set to PAL.
Thanks again
what about the idis software? has this been set to pal?
i think, by memory, you double click the Pacom symbol on the bottom right of the live screen, then a Pacom image appears in the middle of the screen.
then type (you wont see any tyoing or stars on the Pacom image as you type) IDISMAN, then enter; you can then select PAL, and click ok

The fault you describe is almost certainly a PAL / NTSC issue as mentioned by other responders. Black and White because it's not accepting a PAL colour burst and a section of the image repeated because the interval between sync pulses is longer than expected (625 lines vs 525 lines default). If the capture card is set to PAL, then it sounds like software software settings. Floppy ears is correct, that's how you get into it - on some (not sure about the 016 series anymore - that was a LONG time ago) typing IDISMAN only gets you to a Menu with three check boxes. You need to uncheck one of them - something about "Shell" from memory - then reboot
