Default Card Sharing via Next G Wireless

This may be a basic question but I am going to ask it anyway.

I have a laptop that I use a USB NextG Wireless connection with.
What I would like to do is to be able to connect another PC (or in my case a Dream Box STB) to the standard ethernet NIC port so I can share the Wireless internet connection.

Surely it is possible - I will look forward to hearing from anyone that has info to offer.

    Thanks in advance

    simple answer

    the latency will kill you.

have done test's with a board member here that uses nextg and it sucked in a big way

    This seems strange -

Some of the speeds I am getting from the NextG wireless on my laptop have been very good.

I have nothing to lose anyway I still would like to try the setup - hey I may need this for other non dreambox reasons as well.

Having said this if I can go through the motions and test this setup and then post my results here, be it good or bad.

Is it hard to setup the internet sharing connection across the laptop?

Speed and latency are independant. Ask anyone on satellite internet.

Do a ping test to see what response you are getting through
    NextG
You could try try this place and see what you get

    Well you can only try

    you will find

    a: latency is atrocious

b: you network ip ( wan ) can and does change at their end should there be a slow down in traffic

c: speed means nothing i have run a Dream and BF430 via dialup its all about latency. The higher it is the more constant drop outs

While we're talking LATENCY. Here's a shitty old Optus VSAT link.

    Nice speed test site

BTW can't someone answer the basics and advise how to network a 3G usb?
