Is the SLA-XL Copier & Programmer any good?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. I am interested in smartcard programming and would like to program a few gold and silver cards to get a bit of understanding of how this all works. I am undecided about which programmer best suits my needs but this one seems reasonably priced and appears to do everything I want.
I am asking for opinions on whether this unit can program gold and silver cards, and if there are other programmers that are better value / more functional that you could recommend.

i can say from experience as being a beginner once that I found the infinity usb unlimited was very easy to use as it has a built in usb phoenix mode which you will need to program silver and golds. Costs a little bit more but i definitely recommend for a beginner

I agree with zacker. I'm still a beginner and the infinity usb is simple to use. Plenty of info on the net too.

The infinity unlimited looks good and I will most likely end up going that route. I see it can also program gamma cards and I guess that might be a useful feature if one day certain information becomes public (not counting on it however).
