Sounds like a ground loop problem. I had the same problem once, you can try a humbug or just cut a bit of ply wood to size and mount the camera on the ply and the ply to the awning.
Installed a 3 camera system today.
2 domes inside shop and 1 x Vandal Dome outside on OLD metal awning.
The 2 internal domes are fine, but the external gets interference as soon as it is mounted to the awning. When the camera is down picture is fine but as soon as you touch the base to the housing the interference starts (rolling lines and lose of signal/part of signal).
They are all run on Cat5E and baluns (separate 14/020 fig 8 for power).
Changed the vandal dome to another dome swapped baluns and changed signal pair with exactly the same result.
I am assuming this is a ground loop.
They are all run from 1 x 24VAC power supply, would changing this camera to a 12VDC supply make any difference? Would a Humbug fix this?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

isolate the camera electrically from the metal with a piece of plastic or rubber and the screws as well.
Or use a humbug

I will mount the camera to a plastic or wood base and the mount that to the awning to isolate it.
Thanks
this is a problem caused my difference in "potential" get your sparky to bond the metal awning to the protective earth of the electrical system supplying the transformer for the cameras
