will a hd satellite rxr from the usa work on hd signals here

hi everyone, i have a captain model 8000 thats goes in video says 480i 720i and 1080 i. i bought it from the united states 4 months ago or so .i was wondering can anyone tell me if any hd free to air tv channels etc on any satellite will load and can be viwed on this receiver it doies do ntsc and pal tv also .thanks hamguy2 nsw

USA HD is ATSC. Satellite and Terrestrial broadcas throughout Asia and Europe is DVB standard. I don't think it'll work here.

hi there ,it works mpeg2 fine etc diseq the lot the thing has a smart card slot in it it says in the book about a rom3 card anyone know what that meands, thx hamguy2 nsw
