Default Ideas for Free Web Based website for promoting a business?

Hey all... Just trying to help a friend.
He has a business in paving, stone work and wood pizza oven construction.
As you can imagine, he is a complete hands on outdoors type person and as such... has no idea about computers or the internet.

He has all the great photos of recent work, i was going to make him a little website where prospective customers could look at his work and he could kind of promote himself with contact details at the same time.

I have never done anything like this before.... I see a lot of people use Blogger for showing there own work, or cooking or whatever...

    Would something like this work?
    Or is there better options.

Once again, he has no money and no idea.... so what ever is free and has a fixed address should suffice.

    Thanks

tell him to buy one less carton of beer and pay for a site , there are a few 1/2 decent ones for not much and that way there are no popups and advertising taking away from his site.

look at webcity they have deals for a lousy $7 a month and then its all tax deductible as well for him then having the site also allows him to claim his internet payments each month as well on tax.

dont say linux if i wanted it id install it

Definitely register a .com.au or a .com for him. ($35 for 2 years)
It's as vital as a phone number.
Then he can have his own email address like sales@thebusiness.com.au

The I would look at something like google apps. Which is FREE.

Don't use the free ones that comes with your isp. As that means you'd be stuck to that service.

You could probably host the photos on flickr or something similar, register a domain name and set it to redirct to the your flickr site (or whatever you use) where the photos are. Pretty cheap and easy, and would be easy to remember the address.

Definately create a facebook group. This way he can "blog" on his facebook page and fans (clientel) of his page can post glowing feedback.

Myspace is another tool. A lot of bands use it to promote themselves, music, video and pics etc.

Example, this is mine... Been flatout so haven't had time to update it...
