Windows Software RAID
Now I'm playing around with 2x 160GB IDE Drives on a VIA SATA/IDE card.
This BTW does not have Hardware RAID. (Wish it did..lol)
I Had 4 of them, but sold 2 drives I wasn't using...lol..
I've created a Windows Software RAID in XP just using Disk Management.
This increased the performance of these drive so I thought I would use it as a backup.
But my question is this. If I have to do a clean install of Windows for any reason, will the new install be able to pickup the old RAID, or will I loose all my DATA on the Windows Software RAID.
Thanks

Sad isn't it.
Posting a reply to my own post..
Anyway, it does work when installing a new Windows OS. I installed Vista, and it just saw it as a single drive.
Did a reinstall of Windows XP on another driver. Same thing.
Was getting concerned there. but looks like if I continue to run windows the data on the Software RAID will be fine. (Unless one of the drives die..)
