Default uec box white card fix

i see in another thread here many people are using uec boxes with white cards, there were instructions posted before the data deletion on how to get your uec box to scan the home frequencies without hanging on 'acquiring nit' screen but those instructions are gone, can someone post them again pls so i can get an old box working?

I assume the card had to be woken up, and it was a matter of resetting the box and doing a complete scan, because sometimes the UEC can be a bit stubborn especially the ex select boxes.

Been a while since I did it but from memory and using a uec 720i (but I think the 910 is the same…..and feel free to correct me) the way to get past the NIT lockup was to scan aurora and austar using channel stacking [forget home]and have aurora first.
    To do this go menu….advanced options….change dish installation..9949….signal setup…..signal setup 1 (Home)….leave this blank.
    Signal setup 2….put in aurora.
    Signal setup 3…put in austar
    Exit…. Tune and rescan

It will scan aurora then lock on austar [NIT]. Press exit then OK
This then has opened up an option in the main menu called “channel arrangement” which when selected gives you “search service names” which will scan austar channels

To quote from the manual “Main menu option “Channel Arrangement Options” can only be selected after successfully receiving programming information over the air. Before this happens this option is not displayed”

yes sorry that was poor form of me.

mandc has pretty much nailed it, except i put a* in signal setup 1 and 2 respective and aurora in 3, 4 and 5 respective, then went to straight to 'channel arrangements' (did not hit tune and scan first) and selected 'search servicenames' it scanned and found all aurora and a* channels and it completely bypassed the nit screen and went straight to pics.
