Default New optus plans 1st May 2010 ?

A friend got a phone call to up grade last week .

    50/70 – $49 bundled.
    75/75 – $59 bundled.
    85/85 – $69 bundled.

This is going to give telstra a bit of stick .
Some sales people are in the know while other's know nothing as usual .

    Hi.

    OK I am on a optass unlimited 12/24 with a home phone. 59 + 34 + calls

New plan, and I am not in any contract

    Cool,

They could of call me, well they call every other week. They could of come to the door, they do that about every 3 months.

So as a valued customer, why do I see the new plan as a add?

I gain 114G of download and cap my home phone to $29 with $50 of calls.

So if I am a valued customer, why was this not a auto upgrade.

I know I got a letter about a month ago. sign a 12 month contract and save $10 on my current plan. lol

So sell me a 12 month contract on a 12/24 plan, and then release a 75/75 plan for the same price.

So am I missing something, or is this just a con job? or is this a real plan

    Cheers

Optus isnt alone with these varying plan options.
Primarily they are after NEW customers as they already have you and you dont count.
From what others tell me if you ring to disconnect because of a 'Better' deal elsewhere, suddenly they can offer you plans that you cant find listed anywhere on their sites.

As for sending you a contract plan and releasing a seemingly better one the same day, you should waste a day ringing a Govt department (CentreLink-Digital TV) about a press release to be asked how did you get their number and what are you talking about to realise the old adage of not telling one hand what the other is doing is very much in use today by both Private and Govt enterprises.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

That is what they are missing.

I am a customer, but they are about 30 seconds away from me changing.

I understand the contract etc, that why I told the door knocking fwhit to go, as it was only $10

"they already have you and you dont count" They may not have me for long. Does that count?

    Cheers

My plan upgraded on the 1st...

    85GB peak and 85GB offpeak.

I'm paying $60 a month (first bill came already).

I know there are faster services and all but I got to say I'm enjoying the speeds and bandwidth.
