Need to fix wordpad on win7ultimate

when i open a file in word it is all giberish, was fine once before but since my little one touch my pc its gone like this and I dont know how to fix.

Any ideas???

You could try the free open office suites. These are working very well for me with Win7. . You may have to install java to get all the features.

Is it Word or Wordpad? The thread title says Wordpad.
If you open a word docx etc. in Wordpad it will look all gibberish.
Have your file associations been changed?

Sorry, yes wordpad. Dont know if any file associations have been changed (maybe). My four yr old got to my pc and since then its been like this.
Everything I open in wordpad looks gibberish.
