    Default What is it???

I recently aquired this with some other items i purchased.
Its a SIEMENS Simatic Net Profibus CP 5512 pcmcia card.
From a net search it appears to be used to help 'program' robotic devices (PLC's etc)
( i presume industrial machinery. etc)
I have the PCMCIA Card only not the adaptor Cable shown in the pic.

From my searches it appears to be worth a fair bit of money when both cable and adaptor are present.
Around $500-$600 2nd hand or more than $1000 new
And the PCMCIA CARD only retails NEW for more than $400.

    So heres my questions:
Was i roughly correct in the use of this item? (i know nothing of electronics)
What sort of money could i expect to get for it?
And is this of use to anyone here? If not - does anyone know of people or forums where this item may be wanted?

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Default

Yes, it's a specialised piece for programming Siemens plc's and HMI's.

I just spent 5K on the software and PC-adapter-USB-MPI with no 5512 adapter/cable.

Using the 5512 is better but I dont have PCMCIA only express54 and thus would need another adapter.

If you can find someone that has a need, it's worth something. How much, I don't know.

Let me know if you can't sell it or want to throw it my way.

    Cheers
