Has austech changed (for the better?)

Just wondering about this forum without being detrimental or banned?

Seems like the old site has lost it's "guts" aka balls (sorry gals). I know some of those old (what I considered vgood) posters have been banned, left etc eg Sat + GPS - (exc GW1 RIP) but in my mind these included the best tech posters we had etc., without naming names.

I have been here on Austech for ages ie long before data crash and must admit I miss the good old slaggin' days. Hey there is nothing better than being castigated for not searching etc. (Maybe mods we could start a slaggin tech or like-wise part of the forum).

Hope I do not get "closed thread" as happens, but just wondering on others thoughts regarding this point, including mods.

If not happy with my post, please close, if OK please consider or point me (PM if necessary) in the direction of where Austech, imo used to be.

dont know, the whole "search for info" or "google is your friend" is a bit ummmm old...
if you have to bother typing that in, without helping then, to me, its almost as bad as asking the question in the first place.

Change is unavoidable, some move on, others join in, sometimes we are all torn to see a RIP post for another valued member.
We still see fire from time to time especially when politics come into an issue.
I was a lot more active before the big crash and felt a great loss with the disappearance of all that went before.
At the end of the day this is where I come.

I was called a "Venomous Dickhead" by a moderator who had a different opinion to me, then blocked from being able to post in the thread to defend myself.

I posted about making Beef Jerky in a post on smoking meat, and had my post deleted because the moderator thought it was a political comment, I was blocked from that thread by the same moderator.

Both of these posts were in the General Chat forum, I thought the term General Chat covered a broad spectrum of topics.

Lol, this used to happen all the time on the satellite forum in the gold card days. So much so that someone, can't remember who, it was a long time ago, made this. I saved it for posterity.

By the way, I reckon all the new forum subsections are great. If I don't know something, I can ask just about anything and get the answer.

Yep it has changed , but that is lfe as it grows it changes .

Personally i think it has evolved from more of a sat site to an all type site which is great , there are so many subsections with very usefull information which has helped myself and many others.

As for some of the old names not being around , well that is also life some just move on others prefer not to be in the lime light and some still come in disguise and let what were once newbies take on the mantle of passing on knowledge this was the same thing that happened after the gold days and will happen again and again.
