Default HELP tom tom go930 screen freezes

After using tomtom update my go930 now has problems

my go930 buttons stop working after about 20sec of GPS unit loading up and then it just resets/reboots. (9 out of 10 this happens the other time it works fine)

so would this be a software problem or a hardware issue as tomtom wants $99 just to look at it ?

i have no backup to Reformat and test to see if it fixs the problem

    boot 5.5120
    map 8.351
    v720.1868
