    Default DM500s and PLi Iolite.

I had a reluctant play with this image, didn't like it at first because I found the menus confusing and illogically linked.

But it does seem to be an interface that grows on you.
And it has some nice features to discover.

So sat down the other night and made up a complete image with newcs, cccam configured to drive a card reader on the serial port as well for those who need it.

    And I tested it.

It is a flashwizrd backup, all channels scanned in etc.

5 minutes and all setup while you make a coffee.

This is where I put it.

Here's a popular flashing program called Flashwizard.

It just needs to know what to operate on and flashes a 500s real quick.

The files have an extension of "fw2".

    No. You use flashwizard.

Gemini uses a different partitioning system in it's maxVAR images & so hot flashing from gemini to pli & visa versa can cause greif

I have found Pli to be good on the streaming side of things

3: go to settings and put in the ip of your unit

4: go to flash and select the image z uploaded

    5: then flash

    i like iolite a lot
i configured an image to the channels selection that i like
eg all movies, docos, entertainment, sport, music, kids, news and the rst of the crap
i use dreamup and i do a complete flash in just under 30 seconds (and haven,t bricked one yet )and add another 5 secs to to configure and enter the softcam
and from messing about mgcamd seems to be the preferred way for me in terms of pixelating with this image and helenite as well

Agreed, solution is to flash it twice.

I knew you would be right on it fandtm66,

Have you tried the Neutrino image? It's great for all that recording shit.

I didn't say I loved PLi, just that i made an image of it cause of popularity.

Me...when watching PORN I am rarely aware of what image the box has, in fact a dreambox image is about as exciting or challenging as re-flashing my kitchen toaster or microwave.

Give me a soldering iron and season anyday, these boxes are a bit of a no brainer after a while, but they work well...!

On my box I have the Black Mini Remote selected (seems to alter which keys do what and haven't really played with other configs)

I hit the 0 (zero) key twice to start instant recording.

Hitting it once brings up the onscreen pvr buttons

on my box,ive selected the siver remote in the setting, and i press help twice to start recording from a new channel, once you have started to record on that channel, you only have to press it once after that to start recording again.

    Default root password

I am trying to use this image wih Flashwizard Pro 6.3. In configuration/utilities i need to put the root password which I don't remember. Yes, I think I have changed it since the default does not work.
