DREAMBOX 500HD flashing problem

Hi there members .
please take care when flashing the new dbox 500HD certain units will just fail my mate got 10 units from europe the other day 4units just failed.i have checked certain forums and its a common problem. try to get it flashed with the correct image that you require from the seller. also certain boxes wont work after a cold reset

Due to the new 2.6.18 kernel that the DM500HD uses you must use DM500HD images when flashing. The is one such example on the Pli web site.

As an aside all E2 boxes will get this upgrade to, in the near future on Open-Pli so stay tuned to their web site for more details as it develops.

Do not under any circumstances use Nabilo Blackhole v1.0 image or you will end up with a dead box.

Don't bother with Nabilo. Gemini v5.0 has been released which works great with the DM500HD or alternatively go with PLI.

I tried that in the interim and I didn't like it. At least with Gemini it's dead easy to go into the blue panel and get a CCcam client and OScam server combo going in next to no time with some quick downloads and a few simple config file edits.
