games exit full screen

sometimes when im playing a game full screen something like a thunderbird reminder will pop up and the game will shrink to the task bar.
then when i try to bring the game back up, no go.
anyone know a way to make windows 7 ignore anything that will try to exit the game from full screen?

yea, turn the net off
or ctrl alt del & end task firefox.exe or whatever

Yeh do as phil said or you can use a program called game booster, it will shut down all background sevices (you can choose which one's) and should stop what you are getting. Also releases ram to make your pc run better for gaming. Give it a go.

XP under Services you could disable Message pop-ups, not sure if Win7 has the same

I have a similar issue. Playing a game and something makes the screen minimise. I then have so much trouble trying to maximise the screen (Right Click, Alt + Tab, Clicking in Task Bar... all to no avail). Sometimes I have no option but to end/close the game and re-start; hence losing everything since last save. This is also equally frustrating when playing online.

Yes, Win 7 does not enable user to Right click on program in task bar to maximise.

Does anyone have similar issues with Win 7 screen minimising, then having great difficulty trying to maximise?

What is your work around to make it stop in the first place, or what is a way that works to maximise the screen (other than above)?

im running win7 ult x64 and never had a problem, You need to find out what process is causing it then shut it down b4 you start playing.

Happens when I play on my PC using XP 32 bit but I click on the taskbar and wait about 10 secs then the game continues. It varies on the game too some games tend to just stop working, especially if you Alt + Tab and want to check emails.

I've just installed Uniblue software suite to clean and speed up my computer. It will also help with identifying what processes are running and what they are there for, so I can disable the buggers from running in the first place.

But, the problem also exists if I Alt + Tab out of a game to check mail or use IE for game help. I then have nothing but trouble trying to maximise the screen again. It is just stuck in the task bar.
