Default Laser Module or Spindle for 77002 PStwo

    Hello All,

New to this forum and been doing a little bit of repair work as some side cash for m local area. Came across problem the other day trying to get a spindle for a scph 77002 ps2(ver15) slim since the old one wouldn't hold a disc properly. Can anyone help me out with the spindle module or a comple laser moule or where to find one. Customer is getting a little impatient.

    Daniel

if you have a spare slimline of any type that does not work , just use a spindle out of that , you do not need a spindle from a specific model

Spindle from other versions have longer flex cable and the new one has a very short one so i wasnt too sure. Will have to try that and see what happens but im still looking for one just in case.

Also what laser do these guys use?

your talking about the entire component there , I am just talking about the spindle itself
the spindle is the black plastic disk that sits on top of the motor , if it is not holding the disk correctly you probably have spring missing or broken in one of the 3 spring loaded disk holders
that is what holds the disks , these are only held on by friction , just lever it off , but before you do use a feeler guage so you can get the correct height when you replace it , this is important for focusing of the lens
lik I said any spindle from any slimline model will work

    Nah,

Tried that.Got the disc nub off but i took one off another slimline model and the middle spindle bit was alot larger hence why am after a new module (without laser but with spindle) or someone could send me a new nub or something (pay for it of course)just dont have any spares. Otherwise ill have to replace the lot and i really dont want to do that.

Your better off just getting a whole replacement laser assembly....they're pretty cheap & just 4 screws & your done for under $40.And u know you want have to worry about adjustments, heights etc.

    Default Lucky Find

    Well,

I have always been looking to replace the whole assembly but the spare console i have, have all been raided so far and all the modules have been used. I was scrounging through all my spares and came across a stray laser module. Wll just have to fix it up but i would say it should work.

P.S Thanks everyone for the info and help given.
