    Default Newbie: Dreambox Questions

    Hi,
    Just a few questions.
    Can Dreamboxes receive HDTV?
Also can you stream the signal and watch it on your computer?

    Thanks

For some the answer is always no and no. But they live in a gemini world.

I think as you search more you will find threads that not only say yes to both questions but also how to do it's as well.

Streaming these days is near perfect on all models of DM boxes to all PC's we use here Vista/Xp/Linux both on the LAN and on Wifi and over the net you will see there are tools for this when you search too.

1080i (576iSD works perfect as normal on any DMbox) on the current range of DM boxes (dm800hd is supposed be out this month for this purpose) is not there, but is if you stream it from your DM box back to a media player like VLC, WinAmp or Mplayer or the likes it is there OK works very well on Mac, vista and linux boxes.

I've had no problem streaming MPEG2 HD streams and watching them on PC. Also works with 4:2:2 feeds. I haven't tried anything mpeg4 so can't vouch for that.

This is using the dm7025 web interface -> VLC

Yes, but why bother when you can do it direct from the webif (web interface)?

This is a smartarse comment aimed at me ,so thats why I tell you to get stuffed.

Is that clear enough for you?

You don't see me making comments about the fact that you're always shoving PLI images down peoples throats.

Noted and fully taken on board. You are sensitive this morning, you are a real blokes bloke.

As to ramming images down people throats (did you see me mention or imply any image in my post above), maybe you should consider what you are doing with the sales of your clones to users on here, do not see them coming with a choice?

Noted and fully taken on board, yep I can see that.
If you think i'm sensitive then i think you're bad mannered.

I don't need your advice on sales mate, I know how to do that.
You see that little number in brackets against my avatar?
Click on it and read it, I don't see anyone unhappy.

Users who wanted PLi were given access to my FTP that has images for all models of dreambox including an installed PLi image with all slots configured.
But of course you weren't to know that, it's none of your business.

So you are wrong, I don't push images on people, that is your party trick.

Why don't you stop with the smart arse crap about LNB not needing an earth and being an urban myth etc and just admit you're wrong.
There's plenty you have to offer with all your knowledge, we are all wrong from time to time, yes including you.

Indeed you are most sensitive this morning. Thanks for all the info, most forth coming of you.

As to sales, who is giving who any advice? I see no-one other than yourself. I do not sell clones here, just help those that ask for it. As I said most forth coming of you and indeed a great party trick done all on your own, now we know.

Indeed you are most insensitive every morning.

Too much Pad Thai Chilli I suspect,
