    Default Screen calibration issue

I mucked up the screen calibration of my (ebay special) GPS running IGO8. Now when you touch the screen another part of the screen is selected as if you touched it there.

I was wondering if there is a way to Reset it? Where on the SD cards are the settings?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks to everyone who view this to try to help. I found a screen cailbration utility on another forum. I had to rename it to the nav software path and file name then it fixed the problem.

    G'Day Cobber,
This seems to be a good all purpose one:-

Had a quick look - but could not see any obvious calibration tool. Will download and explore further . .

Seems Harrietjames had the right idea - as I can easily rename correct utility to igo8, and thus be picked up by the autostart . . .

I can't take credit for this. From:

Ok here is the screen calibration utility...
BTW: not tested yet by myself, so use at your own risk...

    mirror:

Extract on a SD crad and tell your gps software to run it... if screen is too offset to point the file, rename the file igo8.exe and place it exactly where you igo file was so it will start by itself...

Having solved my problem, a friend who has a similar problem asked for help.... But he had done a reset first - so I need to know exactly where after a reset, it expects to find the Nav s/w (and the name of it ).

Book shows \sdmmc\GodSpeed_Hydra_Com . . . . but full path is not shown in the book diagram.

Does anyone know this full path, and sw name so that I can setup such a directory and put the recalibration s/w there ?

    Advice welcomed,
    Thanks, davebee

    Default

    With a bit of intuition (and trail-n-error testing), I have the answer . . . . .

For my mates GPS, the factory default for the Nav s/w is "Godspeed_Hydra.Com6_9600.exe" in the sdmmc directory . . thus my guess above about it being a Subdirectory of sdmmc was a blind alley . . .

I thus renamed the calibration utility to "Godspeed_Hydra.Com6_9600.exe", added it to the sdmmc root - and Autostart then automatically ran the Fix ! ! ! Problem solved . . .

Note this method will only work when AUTOSTART is factpry default - or has been preset elsewhere . .
    davebee..

Once calibration fixed, I reset the auto file to iGo8 etc . .. . Problem solved ! !
