I already answered you in reply #40.

If the program runs and doesn't give any errors about missing files, then the OCX files are installed correctly, and you have another problem.

Any way, I'll let the Austechxperts sort this one out, the drunken blue idiot should be along soon to really #### things up.

Yes saxcomm8.ocx can stay in the original folder, just need to run the bat file

In my post a few above shows what Operating Systems need the ocx files in what folder
Cant believe 98 is giving you trouble

What can sometimes work is put LM-Edit and or GG-Edit in a Folder with all the ocx files

Mate you got any really old pc's laying around, if so chuck Win98 on that with the ocx files in system folder, you are just unlucky to be have these probs with Win98 on that pc
i tried placing ocx files in system folder in win98 and registered them and now i am still getting data interrupted on port1 and on com2 timeout reading data error i tried moving he slide bar but no effect. if i move the ocx files to program files folder from system folder do i have to register them again or do i leave them in system folder and make copy of them in ggedit folder them register again. there has to be something i am missing here. something stupid.

Can you read all your details in GGEdit ?

    ASC
    ProvID 10
    HSN
    PMK 10
    HMK
    CoCo

if you have the HSN & HMK you have enough details from your card to make another working Gold card, or ppua file,

if you have the ProvID10 & (current) PMK10 you can make an Autoroll file

the more details you have, the more you can put in,

LMEdit & GGEdit only read or write the details to your card, you can use FMCard to read & calculate & write the details to the card too, (maybe a little harder to do, but not much)

Can you load the Ghost Gold files to the Pic & Eeprom of a new Gold or Silver card (using ICProg,or other program) (you may need to do some reading how to do this too)

if so you can still make an Aurora Card,

otherwise you could try another programmer

There is more than one way to skin a cat,

    Good Luck

P.S. Everyone has to work out these problems, some people work it all out in a few days, others it takes weeks or months to piece it all together, & get it to work.

The only thing that populates is the ATR and a version number in the box between ATR and the 6 or 3.5 mhz setting it gets interrupted before anything else can be read. All i want to do is read the whole card save the files and load them on my other card which is not working at the moment. one card works and the other doesnt. will fmcard read a protected goldcard?

then that must be my problem i just had a look at my power supply and it is
    Input: 230-240V AC 50Hz Only
    Output: 12v DC 400mA

i went out and just another power supplywith a regulator which is 1.5 mA from jaycar and am still getting interrupt data and this is on win98.

what am i missing here. i have just placed the ocx files now in the ggedit program files folder but am unable to register them. how do i do that

yes it is gold in color also i used to use it when analogue fox was on. same type from same seller. when i went to jaycar today iand got the new power supply i also bought two wafercards which are blank they are pic16f84a+24c16b GLD i would like to do these from scratch but need to know how and also need bin/hex files as i cannot clone my working one. funny thing is fmcard communiicates with programmer however gives card error on my good working card. is there any way i can work out why ggedit and lme edit give data interruption . what alternative program can i use to clone my card or how can i obtain correct files to make one from scratch

As mentioned above if the program doesnt say missing .....ocx file then the ocx files are fine, Win7 using pci-com can understand it not working for everyone
But Win98 on older machine with com port on board, with out changes to port setting and no missing ocx files has always worked
So that leaves the Cable, Card, Programmer/settings, or psu

GG-Edit and LM-Edit will only read Ghostamans Codes, how old is the gold card, maybe its V17 no-chids

What do you get with FMcard ?

Set yor Com port (Com-1 ....etc) & Programmer (MHz) in the Options Tab

Then go back to the Mouse Tab & insert your card & click connect

(Programmer & Software need to be set to 6.0 MHz)

    Cheers

try a simple program like cardhunter or cardevil
and try in pheonix or smartmouse modes
you need to get comms going befor anything else
ghost codes ect are in the first link you got
the mastera will do the gold with icprog but you need to learn how to drive it first

It could be that your card is protected & cannot be read,

or it could be that it was programmed with something other than Ghost Gold,

or it could be a hardware problem, like a faulty Serial cable (it also needs to be a full serial cable....thick one), or faulty programmer, or something,

or it could be an incorrect setting, (software or hardware)

Maybe try to make a new card, (there are Aurora Irdeto1 details somewhere in the threads on this forum, that you can make a Gold or Silver card from)

    Good Luck

    Cheers

there is a setting in icprog to do through pic programing to do the eeprom first
havent got it in front of me today so cant tell you where
or if you have programmed the pic you can send the eeprom crd files via cardhunter or fmcard for same result

HI guys i got everything working it was the gold card i had it was protected and was not done with ghost gold. the pic was blocking me as it was protected with something i still don't know what.
I managed to get every program working with mastera V on win98 with help from everyone here so thankyou. it was that stupid card that was giving me hassle.. the program i used to load eeprom and pic is cardwriter works like a charm with mastera V and loads eeprom and pic all in one hit and ggedit to load details. I did not need ic prog at all.

All i needed was ocx files in system folder of 98 no need to register these, ggedit and sax ocx file which must me registered with bat file in ggedit folder.

So thankyou everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.
