Clearly it would be intolerant to ban the burka. In fact we should make them compulsory for all women and they should also be banned from driving motor vehicles and voting too. Perhaps then women will learn their place in society and their role in the service of men. This will prevent men being affected by the sight of an immodestly clothed women and stop earth quakes as eluded to by a respected Iranian religious schooler.

just an update, the french voted unanimously to ban the burka, now they just have to pass law



laws exist to uncover your face in a bank ect eg helmets, do the same for this disguise!

As an Australian with a muslim heritage (infidelic non practising most may say :/) , I agree with banning the burka and cringe at the sight of it. It has no place in modern society, NOT EVEN IN ISLAM ! These burka heads cause more damage to how their religion is perceived than what any Western attitude could do to it.

I can understand the morals and values in dressing modestly, I can look past a basic veil, but the burka is just a misguided and misinterpreted way of life by uneducated muslims. I too would resist any such way of life if it was forced upon me.

Islam tells these people to move with the times and adapt to the environment they are in. They clearly choose not to and continue to live like cave man. They are their own worst enemy, not the racists or the bigots or Western Society. If anything, we need more tactful resistance towards the burka heads to keep them transparent in their agenda's here in Australia.

Sadly, I can see radical muslim groups creating their own greater communities with their own banks, doctors, pharmacies, retail outlets, etc in resistance to the Western way of life.

How can we deal with these issues ? I wouldn't have a bloody clue ... I think the damage is done.

I agree with you on this one..maybe they can wear the Burka in Mosque or your church,Just like the Jewish people wearing Black hats (Rock Da Casbah) or the Catholic/Orthodox women wearing their veil in churches.
But not in Kmart any shopping mall or driving the vehicle on the road..

when i first saw this pic in an email i thought it was just a set up for the photo
However while i was at Dreamworld a couple of years ago, i actually saw a family in "cultural dress" standing infront of a ride, taking a photo just like this one.
Even my kids at the time asked me "what was the point" and we all had a laugh.
