    Arrow Dish connections

    Hi All,
I moved in to my new house last month. There are two existing Ku band dish antenna on the roof, one for foxtel and the other for some phillipine channel(not sure which). I plan to install a 2.3m dish to get international channels (mostly C band). The new dish to be motorised. Is it possible to combine these 3 inputs into one and fed to the receiver? I am also after a good receiver that I can fiddle with. I have previous experience in single dish operations.
    Thanks in advance
    Tux

Best thing to do is buy a 4-1 DiSeqC switch. This has four inputs and a single output back to your receiver. All you need is a compatible DiSeqC receiver. I have a Strong, they work fine. When you confiqure, connect your dishes to the correct input & their settings.

Thax m8.............is there anything particular when selecting these switches? Will there be considerable signal loss/ noise when connecting multiple LNBs in to this switch?

No, I have a 2.4m c-band dish with about 30m of coax to the switch, then back to the house with another 10m. Signal level only degraded, not quality!

They're mostly the same, with neglegible signal loss. They are different to a 4 way splitter, in that the signal is not split through the 4 inputs, but the receiver selects the input it requires depending on the parameters set. Try Nikang06 on ebay - he's selling a new 4 way diseqC switch at reasonable price.

Thanks guys..............I am sure I'll be back here with more questions once started setting it up. How about buying a universal LNB (C+Ku) for the new dish? Any recommendations for a dealer in Melb SE?
