Cost of Respraying a car?

I have a 2000 model Subaru station wagon which some of the clear coat is peeling away, is it best just to respray that side of the vehicle or the whole car? It's currently metallic paint two tone. What costs are involved? And can any recommend a good panel beater in the south east of Melbourne. Willing to travel to get a good quality job done.
