    Default TV Tuner Card Sofware

    Hi,

    I have just bought a usb tv tuner card (In Vision) and find im having real problems with the PVR / TVR softare bundled.

    Being that i have all hte drivers installed does anyone know good TV software that i can use? (all i want to do is watch tv, no need to record etc).

    I'm just running XP 2005 media center edition works good

    what is 2005 media center if you dont mind me asking?
    I only have windows xp pro and office 2003...guessing this is a seperate suite?

    I ended up downloading DSCALER a freebie.... works well except i cant get SBS.

    It is a special version of XP made for media center PCs and I don't think you can buy a copy from microsoft... it comes installed on media center PCs

    You can buy OEM versions of windows MCE 2005, it comes in at about $200.

    There is a free media center app called MediaPortal which is open source, and from memory I think about a 28Meg download, I don't know if your USB tuner is compatible with it, but there is a list of known compatible tuners that work with it.

    Might be worth a look.

    Media center is included in Windows Vista Ultimate....It works well with my tuner card and records well too...

    I had Vista Ult but the mediacenter program wouldn't work with my TV card.
    So I had to go back to XP
