    Default Vodaphone SE W880i surprise.....

Just bought a prepaid Vodaphone SE W880i today for a friend overseas, entered the IMEI number at the Vodaphone web site and got it unlocked straight away.... no unlocking fee.

I bought it at a Tandy in Brisbane today for $299 (was going to patch unlock it myself) for a friend in NZ ( it costs $500 + over there) and thought I would try that link that was posted in here a while ago..... still quite rapt over that.

    what firmware are they?

    Vodafone based or generic ...

If its generic and can be unlocked for free then that is a freaking bargin for $299 from Dick Smith for that handset ...

Dunno what firmware it was but it had the Vodafine branding on it... I ended up debranding it with generic firmware.

When you say Vodafone branding, basically it has the Vodafone Live fast key, Access points and browser settings?

Yeah, that is not that hard to debrand, as for the unlock, if its free (and you said it is, but you never with Vodafone they might of changed it in the last few days) then yeah at $299 its a damn grand bargin for that handset as everyone else has it for minimum $729 (and that includes Vodafone online shop)

For example, Three want $800 outright for it and even then you still have to get the unlock code from them.

[I would try that link that was posted in here a while ago]
um yeah what is that link again?

    Cheers
