Default Jupiter has lost a belt

For those who have looked at Jupiter before, even with quite cheap telescopes, could see 2 belts. Now there is only one.

    It's summer in southern Jupiter.

I remember years ago Jupiter also lost a belt. Was gone for a while too.

Happens every 20 years or so and lasts around 18 months.
Its caused by changes in weather patterns in the atmosphere. The belt is still there but is obscured by cirrus like clouds higher in jupiters atmosphere. Not regarded as a seasonal thing as Jupiters inclination is negligable and so doesn't really cause "seasons" as such.
