China Map to suit 8.3.4 - Looking

Hi All,

Does anyone have an iGo map for China that will work in v8.3.4?

Does one even exist?

I'm heading there next week, and I wouldn't mind a map to get me around over the following 6 weeks.

There is a iGo8 world map download but the china maps apparently don't work in normal iGo8.
"China: 2008.05: 080711 Does not work with normal iGO8!
Basemap for China: 2008.07: 080613 Does not work with normal iGO8"

So, are you saying that if I can find the world map, then I should be ok to travel?

No mate...it appears that the China maps won't work in the standard iGo8 software...maybe due to chinese characters

mate, u need special version for chinese map

here is the link, but it's a bit old, i think its 2008 data

I downloaded it ... the copy I ended up with shows about 57 corrupt files.

I'll keep looking for this though. 2008 data is much better than no data.

I also downloaded it and put it on a new 2G SD card and the only thing that stopped it was a missing language file...I put in my Australian language file and it seems to work ok. I did a few searches for streets in Shanghai and it found the big ones but was lacking all the smaller streets...better than nothing though.

I will upload my version with the added language file...it will take a few hours.
