    Question Microwaves

    why is it quicker to microwave a frozen pie when its in a bowl instead of on a plate? i have done this a few times and its about 30sec quicker in a bowl.

    I know that wax is like glass to microwaves...eg if you make a "lense" out of wax it works just the same way as a magnifying glass and will focus a beam of microwaves...

    but a ceramic bowl...hang on I'mm assuming a ceramic bowl, try it with a glass bowl and plate and see if your findings are the same

    Probably because the microwaves are bouncing off the bowl to a degree and being concentrated on the pie. Hard surfaces tend to reflect microwaves, hence why they bounce around inside the oven (off the walls).

    Lightbulb super pie

    put the pie on a saucer with a bowl upside down on top of the pie. it cuts a 3.5 min pie to 1.5 min pie. technically, less time in radiation, more nutrients survive.
