Gents,
This one is more aimed for people that have been in the industry for a while...
What software packages does everyone use to keep track of Jobs? Ordering etc?
I've got a loose conglomeration of packages (One to do up quick service jobs, one to keep an inventory, and the girls use myob to put in all the invoices and book work)
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good, easy to use, service, installation, stock program (Doesnt need to port to myob but it couldnt hurt) and something to help do away with service docket books.. we're only getting bigger and I need to find a solution to the reams of paper I tend to print weekly..
yes I am a bio terrorist... tree's are not my friend...
Any any all helps appreciated guys..

Look Here -> |
We are using a program called EZeService by Platyplus Software. website is
We have ours links to Quickbooks & QuickPOS. But I know they can link their software to MYOB software and CRM software.
At our site we have the Desktop & the PDA Version(Windows Mobile 6.1) of EZeservice which allows us to do away with the paper, plus our jobs can get uploaded/downloaded to the PDA while we are in the field.
It took a while to get comfortable with the software. But now we would be totally lost without it. We have been using it now for 2-3 years. The developers of the software are available to customise it to suit your needs eg customised jobcards / invoices and a few other bits and pieces of their software.
Check their website out / give them a call they will give you a free demo to check it out.
cheers
Michael
I recall seeing/hearing about a system that uses a digital pen that captures the data entered/written on service forms and transmits it directly to the office (or something like that).
A quick google turned this up which is something like the local one I remember hearing about.
Looks interesting but I cant remember who/what the local one was called.
There are lots of variations on that theme.
I use a product called Livescribe, for general note taking, meetings etc. It's one of my all-time favourite gadgets and the Anoto dot paper technology can be readily adapted. However as with most 'forms' there is no single solution which is going to work for everybody. So I doubt you're going to find anything straight out of the box. At best you may have to re-engineer your own work methods.
