Default Pay TV in multiple rooms

    Guys,

brand new home = new f0x connection

If I get 2 outlets installed, upstairs and downstairs.

I will have to pay the extra 14.95/per month or whatever the fee is. Now, does that form a part of the 24 month contract?

or can I give them a call month later and say I dont require the second decoder box???

or if I still have to pay, is getting it installed in 2 rooms and giving one box to a mate a better idea??

I am trying to find a way to avoid installing dual lnb n setting up the cables myself...

I just need 2 outlets and I would rather not install the second myself. Looking for an easy way out

I have the same setup. You are contracted for a service for 24 months. That simply means the basic service with one box. You dont pay for an additional putlet every month. A one off installation. You pay $19.95 extra for the 'extra box. I will be getting rid of my 2nd box soon, as the 'wireless' av transmitter/receiver I've hooked up (Cocoon) works well. It's as good as 2 boxes. Find it very rare for us using both at the same time If we do, I Bloody Well Win EVERY TIME?

    thanks for the replies...

so you are not contracted for 24 months to pay the extra 19.95 for the extra box... may as well just get the second outlet installed when the house is complete...

or like you guys suggested, im thinkin of lending it to a mate lol... cheeky but works out!!!

    Cheers

mate if were you i would be installing the cable while the house is being built. Foxtel contractors can be pretty rough with there installs.

Think ill be cancelling that second box of mine now that i know i am not on a contract, i though i was LOL

now that rings a bell for another question

I have asked the builder company to install 1 satellite cable downstairs, which i intend to use for 2.3m dish...

I know that f0xtel install their own cable down, but now like you said Chimp, and i've heard from others too, that fox contractors are rough with their installations and may not get the outlet/faceplate where I would want it...

I can get another cable installed by the builder company, it will cost $95, but they will charge another $125 on top for amending the cabling plans that we have already finalized about 3 months ago...

I hope that I can catch the electrician when he comes in to do the cabling and pay him a bit of money and 6pak of VB or somefin to do the job lol
