Default Churn'd from Bigpond to Internode

    Hey Guys

If I have gone through the process of changing providers from Bigpond to Internode and all settings etc have been changed in the modem etc - do I have to contact Bigpond and inform them of the change, or is this something that happens when "Churning" ?

I am going to call them anyway, cause I don't trust them.......... just wondered

    thanks

Not sure...but I do know that Bigpond claim that you dont have to tell the other ISP when you churn to them So it would be a bit hypocritical if they expect you to.

I see you are still posting on Telstra ( looked at your IP ). If you have churned, you will need to enter your Internode username and password in your modem settings.

wouldn't Telstra keep billing? I was under the impression you churn then tell your old provider?

The is new isp informs the old isp, trust me you don't have to tell anyone. That's the churning agreement.

The only thing the churner has to do is make sure they are out of contract.

No I don't think notification to Telstra is required as churned some years ago, and had no problems. This was an ADSL1 churn - so unsure if things are different with ADSL2+

Remember ringing the Telstra hotline to enquire if I was still under contract, and when they told me I wasn't, had the churn process happening in minutes after that wonderful news! Wonder if they connected the dots when this was the only information I was after....

Yes, I was once floundering in the very restrictive Stinkypond, but heck, the oceans so much bigger with Internode!

A friend of mine recently left Telstra Bigpond and went to another ISP - and continued to be billed by Telstra !!

I would advise Telstra Bigpond just to be on the safe side. You have nothing to lose.

Only if you want the satisfaction of telling them personally that you're getting rid of them....That alone is worth the phone call
