Have u swapped the drive pcb? Unless u have spare parts to diagnose it difficult to fault find. I have found the motor seizes.....give it a spin & see if its free or quite stiff
Hi All,
Got a Wii here with no disc spin at all, Everything else works fine. Have replaced laser with a new laser (removed anti static solder blob first ) and still have the same issue, Believe it could be the worm drive or drive spindle motor problem possibly? Anybody come across the same problem before?
Thanks

Hi LJay,
Thanks for your help, I have some spares and have swapped out the drive pcb and the worm drive without success, Still no spin, Given the motor a turn on a known working motor and compared it to the problem drives motor and it feels the same, Both arent stiff and spin up OK by hand, Unless the drives motor on the problem drive can feel OK but is still crook Im out of ideas at the moment Will swap out the motors as one last chance and see what happens - Thanks for your help again, Much appreciated.

the actual drives these days are alot cheaper than the driveboards...
if it was me, i wouldn't waste too much time on it
Time for a soft mod.

think polarbear does console repairs so i reckon his trying to fix it for a client.
speaking of WODE, boy does it just keep getting better and better.
WODE team keep giving and giving lol.
Thats really good to see, not too often does that happen.
Most teams release a product make $$$ then disappear
Thanks for your help Urban, Got to agree with you about the softmod thing spending too much time on the drive, Dont know how a softmod is going to help get a drive to spin up - Very weird? I do console repairs for clients but this is one of my "fixerupers" I bought for myself. Might have to buy a new drive as I still had no luck with replacing the drive motor, Still no spin, I was just trying to be a cheapskate and see if I could get away without buying another drive but no luck - Bugger... Thanks for your help to LJay
