Yes I totally agree, the prices that some of these vehicles were fetching a while back are not available today. I'm sure if you hold on to them long enough they may return but not in the current climate. As for the Monaro coupe with a 427 in it, yes only two were made by Holden, but hell there are some heavily modified cars getting around that put that car to shame, including current vehicles.
I agree, if you're talking horsepower figures, but!?
Australian FACTORY made cars where only a couple were built??. I know which one will be more collectable in twenty years time.
I know a lot of people who had "collectable" (now days) cars in the late 70s, early 80s. If we had half of those cars now, we wouldn't have to work for a living today.
But, like everything in life, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it! Not what someone THINKS it's worth.
