    Default GWM on WINE/VMware

Does anyone know if GWM will function within a WINE setup ? or VMware workstation running on a Linux host ?

I thought I read a post where it was mentioned that WINE was a no-go, but can't find it, or my search skills are not up to scratch
    But what about VMware ?

    Jim.....

dont think comms on vmware works properly mate.

i havnt tried gwm but ive tried some other software that required the comms port and it was a no go. this was about 6months ago. they might have fixed up the problem but as far as im aware its a no.

    report back though

I think I heard that a guy on another forum has done it with Vmware.

I have got it working within Vmware under ubuntu as the host OS and winxp pro sp2 as the guest os - taking to the first com port.

    works well.

z80 - i might have been the one you saw on another forum with it working

You could also try virtual box. It worked well for me and its free.
