Default Damn! my TT1XL wont accept the 845 maps

    Sunday blues, already
Ok. TT1XL have upgraded (ages a go with DU's help, great guy!), to

    App 8.413
    Boot 55128
    Map 840-2562

But i cannot for the life of me, get the unit to accept the 845.2661 map!
Just hangs at the splash screen (of my daughter).

Let me get this right: My Aus840 folder on the TT has the maps, pois and safety cams with voices in their own folder.

I run the Keygen 4.1 and click on Make DCT (keep hearing some terminator voice saying ERROR or something like that), it does stop (thankgod), and then i click on Patch System - and i get the error msg about wrong map or something like that.

I have tried using keygen 3.1G, with better luck - Hangs at the Welcome screen.

Thanks to DU always warning about backing up!! I have to delete all the TT files and copy back my full backup from December.
Which works, besides no more favs - so i haven't killed my TT yet

So am i doing something wrong?

Sounds like the problem i have on my one XL when upgrading maps.

Mapsettings.cfg (containing your settings and favourites) copied from previous map folder to new map folder is incompatible with the new map version.

To Fix once new maps have been activated.
    1) Backup the mapsettings.cfg file and delete it from the new maps folder.
    2) Choose operate my one in tomtom home (assume home is patched)
    3) change preferences
    4) manage favorites.
    5) from there, touch any favorite and you will see option to delete or rename.
    6) rename one of the favourites and save the changes.
The Mapsettings.cfg file will now be compatible with the new map version.
    7) Reboot tomtom and everything should startup fine.

Alternatively if that method fails to work. Press reset button on base of tomtom with pin for about 10 seconds to reset the tomtom.

Hi Greg, Yeah, my problem isn't the mapsettings (not really bothered about the favorties etc), it's actually getting the 845 working at all...

Done all the pin re-setting - with baited breath in case i killed my TT.

I don't use the TT home - i don't bother updating it or patching it. But however, if i do get the 845 map working AND i want to get my Mapsettings.cfg in ok, i'll certainly do it.

What App, boot versions do you have?
And you got the 845 map working ok.

Hi Greg. Can't be here after my reply, the wife is calling me in.. But will read it tomorrow.

Well the APP, BOOT numbers look good. But whilst my TT has a SD slot, it is not used - all onboard. Not sure if that makes a difference though.

Humm i don't know. What method and what ver of using keygen did you use?

Any keygen worked for me. As long as the meta.txt file contains the correct information. Either Keygen 2009 or Albert's Easy Activator should work fine.

Maybe try repatching the ttsystem file again. That could be causing the problem.

you will find you will have to use the smaller 845.2662 map for the tomtom one units
IF IT DONT WORK USE A BIGGER HAMMER

Not true. With a correctly patched and configured app version you can run any map version to get the extra benefits of that map version.

    As stated above. I run

TomTom One XL v1 (32mb ram/SD card only)
    App 8.413.1237
    Map 845.2661 [Australia]

to use ALG and TTS on my tomtom.

Guys, i haven't tried either version yet!

I will follow Greg's idea of not including the 'Mapsettings.cfg' file and redoing the patch.
But i have to wait until the weekend (or depending on how desperate i get), as i need my TT through the week.

And i guess i am lucky to have it working at all, after what i went through
