what about just holding the down button from cold boot..
If not you may need a cas3... then that might not help either by the sounds of it
I have recently activated my dreambox 7000s. The LCD screen on the box shows "DREAMBOX MULTIMEDIA". That is as far as it goes. I have tried to reset by pressing the three buttons at once, did not work. I have used Dreamup, which went through the process ok, but at the end it made no difference. DREAMBOX MULTIMEDIA was still on its LCD screen. The Ethernet and the Nullmodem appear to be ok. Any ideas as to why I can't go further?

in dreamup hit the flash erase to be sure to be sure
on a 7000 maybe try the serial cable by itself - takes a little longer but worth a try
also try different image in case the issue is with teh image you are flashing
Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree
All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing
Try hold all down all three buttons while turning it on
Reality is an invention of my imagination.

Jeeez..its been a long while since I flashed mine...
Re-image the thing, and then power on holding both buttons at the same time until "Flash Erase" appears on the screen.
Turn off and power on again.
Cheers

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
Out of curiosity can you look at the files on dm7000 through Ethernet
ftp, telnet, http all work over ethernet to 7000
Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

Thanks for all the replies. I tried all of them with no change. The "DREAM MULTIMEDIA" Stays on the lcd screen. Any more ideas?
Maybe the saying is true, "If you can't fix it, use a bigger hammer"

The psu has most likely let go and its missing voltages required to start up. Remember that the DM7000 is now more than 5 years old and many have failed totally well before now. Take it to someone who does repairs and get it looked at. Do not try and fix it yourself unless you know what you are doing or your likely to do more damage than good.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Thanks for the replies. The erase I assume is the one in Dream-up. Yes I did do that. Still the same. Tried different images using dream-up. Still no good. More ideas are very welcome. Maybe the bigger hammer might not be such a bad idea after all but I 'll wait a bit longer

You should be using the original DM Enigma to restore it to life via DreamUp with flash erase then flash with one of the other images.
I did post on here somewhere a copy of it (but I am am to lazy to search for the link at the moment - I should be sleeping).

Hello again
I now don't have anything on the LCD screen, is that the end of it?
Who sells Dreamboxes in Australia?

I will take the 7000 off you for spare parts if you are going to replace it.
As for sellers of dreambox, try cmoore and Fernbay.
