Hi guys whats the best colour media to use when backing up on ps2 i have purple (imitation) and i get red screen death everytime i have some whitish looking dvds and they work (not burned by me)?

anyone can chuck me a clue

imation are crap mate, get taiyo uden, verbatim or ritek

are you certain the chip is working??

are you burning them correctly mate ? you say tha the white ones not burnt by you are fine ?
in my experience you need to muck around with media and find one that suits , my own personal machine will not look at verbatims , ritek etc , but it odes like those horrible strathfield ones lol

hey mick yes i have a asian game dvd and it works flawlessly

also i burnt snes emul on a cdr of mine and worked great

im going to try 1 verbatim dvd and 1 tdk disc today and see what happens

i would say imitation good for data,movies not ps2 backups

will let you know the results

hey ozzie yeah i quess im burning correctly using dvd decriptor iso/read then iso/write ? i was doing 1x or 4x

what is the best speed ?

OK I tryed verbatim and tdk both dont work ?

how do you guys burn them ?

try just doing a straight copy with nero , or use alcohol 120%
forget about decrypter mate
best speed is as slow as your burner will allow you , that said I have burnt at 16x without issue , but that was just to play
give that a go

ok looks to be my laser i changed it from another ps2 v7 and it works

not very good sometimes fails but it randomly works so must be lasers

anybody got a working ps2 v7 laser that i could buy cheap ?

ps both verbatim and tdk work ...

If you get RSOD then it means its not authenticating the disk....so it can see it...bad media or dodgy laser will leave u at the browser screen.
