    Default iGo8 on Navman S90i

    I have been running this combination for a couple of months now, it has guided MasterRadio from Bundy to Wollongong and return and myself from Melbourne to Sydney and just last week Bundy to Wollongong and return. I have to say it preformed almost faultlessly with the only exception being a tendancy to crash on any touch screen input immediately after restart from auto hibernation caused by turning off the vehicle. I found that if I cancelled the auto shutdown when parking for short periods (or powered down manually) I avoided the later problem "iGo8.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" which necessitated a shutdown and restart.
    Can anyone offer me a starting point to track down and rectify the cause. Help would be appreciated.

    Add this to your Sys.txt, it will stop iGO Restarting/Shutting down/hibernating

    [shutdown_time]
    interface=0

    Or you can play around with this and change values, but i use the one above

    [power]
    skip_resume_process=0
    skip_suspend_process=0
    powermgm_state=0
    power_off_mode=1
    power_off_timeout=300
    battery_warning_limit=10
    override_battery_values=???

    No joy ... is there a hierarchal order for commands in the sys.txt, where can the sys.txt for dummies be found

    It was like a light bulb moment, I've tried many combinations in the sys.txt but still the device crashes after restart from auto shutdown. During one of the many tests I noticed the operating system's time and time zone differed from the iGo's time and time zone which is auto sync'd to the sat (overlooked this when I first loaded it). It took quite a while to reset the system time zone due to the sensitivity of the touch screen and bloody big fingers (ended up using point of biro) but it seems I may have stumbled on the cause of the problem ... six static tests later still no crash after restart ..... maybe coincidence .. I will know more after the weekend when I take it for a drive for more testing.

    I'm pretty sure the system time zone will only be persistant till you do a hard reset and will revert back to the default(China?) time zone.

    I'm also pretty sure there is a command in sys.txt that tells igo not to sync times with the device, can't remember exactly but if you look at a complete sys.txt the command will be there.

    By chance do you have a large >4GB sd card inserted?

    I wish I could look at a "complete sys.txt" ... I followed a link in hollowman's post trying to learn more but I must have taken a wrong turn and didn't find what I was looking for.

    This is where I'm going to play but does anyone know how that number (29 in this case) in the default_timezone is derived. I've done some searching but can't equate timezones with a number .. what am I missing? I will need to equate GMT +10 Brisbane with a number.
