    Thanks zacker.

How weird that the national broadcasters will time out from the card...

Next question is how are the ABC/SBS activated, by the supplier or from UEC when they are sent from the factory?
Or is it possible it starts the count down as soon as it detects a signal ??
If from UEC, I hope the STB's are marked so if you buy one you know when it has to be done.
    ******************************
Viewer, bet you a Dollar this is to stop anyone from outside authorised areas from just buying now and waiting for their area to be authorised for the commercial channels.
I suspect that if you bought the STB now and the 60 days elapses, they wont re-activate the ABC/SBS and you will have a useless box while you wait for your specific area to be changed over and all the time the warranty is running out !!

I had another look at the mysat web page, and it says this about the card
"Longer term all viewers who are unable to receive adequate “terrestrial” services, or who live in the Remote Central and Eastern Australia licence area will be eligible to access the commercial channels on the new satellite service (ABC and SBS will be automatically available)If your equipment is correctly installed, you should be able to receive ABC TV without registering your smartcard."
Strange then that you have to have it actually activated, when they tell us it is automatically available?

Sometimes I think these departments/ agencies need to proof read their web page data first, and come up with the same result?

If I recall correctly... you're from Adelaide?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, zacker.

If you tried to register/activate the box with an installation address in Adelaide, the request will not be processed.

Zacker...thanks for the info..I too am trying to work out the way you got it authorised. Do you live within this new area, or was there a "borrowed address" used to get by the Mildura area being the only one available at present?

    Thanks mate..
