Default Some old backups not working (Xbox 360)

    Hello all,

I've just been going through some of my old backups and a few of them are no longer working and I was curious to know why? They're showing up in the dashboard as 'Unplayable Disc'.

I remember hearing something a while back about newer fw's not liking the older made discs, does anyone know if this would this have anything to do with it? All the discs are Verbatim's and I would be surprised if the data is already 'disappearing' from the discs.

Yeah it is ixtreme now. So I'm guessing any games that come up that 'Unplayable Disc' message are because of this.

Is there any harm in rolling back to previous fw's then? I only go online every now and then to visit the marketplace, don't play online.

Could have something to do with the quality of the disc and how it was stored.

I have some old DVDs that I burnt using poor quality discs and they are now coasters

no problem rolling back if you have your original bin file

    Well that did the trick!

Put the fw back to the last xtreme before ixtreme came into play and they're all magically working again!

    For anyone who was interested..........tez

what dvd drive have you got?

can you just flash back and forth or do you need to use some special program to all re flashing ?

    I have a ms28 samsung drive.

    Mine's the MS25 Samsung.

Other than the flash utility, all I need is the Enable0800 disc to allow access to change the fw.

With that I can just go back and forth as I please though it's a bit of a pain to do it all so I normally stick to the one fw once it's in...........tez
