Used many over the years and have now been using Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 (inc previous versions) for past 3 years or so.

My call would be KIS 2010, not used the other though

I've been using KAS for the last few years, and although it is good, i'm starting to find it a little intrusive.

Keys can be bought on ebay for ~$7 AUD.

Just curious, how do you find it intrusive ? And is that KAV or KIS ?

Hi Sanity, I've tried KIS 2010 as well on my work laptop just the trial version. It does seem to slow the computer down a bit, but the biggest issue for me was the opening of files and folders seemed take longer and the laptop would stop responding during this time. I checked task manager but cpu usage was low. So it's gone now and I'm now running Trend internet security which seems to work ok.

have been using Kas Pure since last night and am liking it very much. I had been using CA Internet Security for the last few years and although I was happy with it, it seemed to hog resources making my pc run slow. I dont understand all the settings of Kas but I do like the fact it doesn't seem to slow it down.
..........glad no-one noticed my typo above....your either all very polite or bad spellers yourself....lol bitdenders!!!!

    It's KAV - i'm not a big fan of AV+Firewall.
I probably didn't phrase that correctly. Annoying may have been more appropriate. I previously had problems with it deleting files i marked as safe/excluded. Disabling the auto option in the settings seems to have fixed it.

    Cheers.

I tried KIS2010 I didn't like it much for the above mentioned reasons, I really like Norton internet security 2010, in combination with Malwarebytes, Spybot and trojan remover.

Depend on what you need. I found that Microsoft Security Essential is one of the most simple (though they're probably not the best) and it's free, I normally recommend this one to friends who is not an IT guy. Kaspersky is probably one of the fastest these days, but it might not be the case a few months later (and you probably don't really care about that tiny speed differences).
I personally don't like to use full security suite, rather than AV/AS as precaution (as the more security product you have, the slower it will affect your machine, no matter which one you're using). Prefer to be more careful in what I'm doing. It'd help more rather than relying on AV.

I ran Nod32, uninstalled it and went for KIS.

KIS found multiple problems that Nod missed, no problems with slowing down running KIS on 2 old laptops and a old desktop pc.

Nod was good (i did not know better at the time), KIS absolutely runs circles around it in terms of protection.

Yep, its got me stumped how you could run multiple applications properly. They would spend more time fighting each other than anything else.

I have KIS running on a 1.3 Celeron laptop and it doesnt appear to be slowing down ( though I thought it would ). I am running Windows 2000 service pack 4 on it which probably helps.

I finally got off my but last night and loaded KIS on my other pc, best thing I could have done, was sick to death of avg just letting through virus and then having to rely on m/bytes & tj to fix the mess.
