I can upload a map settings file for you but it needs to be from the same map and I am not sure what you are using.
I had tried the version you have but could not get it run even with a correct stored route.
Have you looked at the thread by tabardajun on mobilism? he has posted an emulator which will run Tomtom on a pc so you can make your own map settings. I used Australia_855_2883 on a PDA to get my settings to copy.

Thanks anyway, and yes I have looked at those threads, but I've given up with TT, think I'll just stick to Garmin and Primo

I wouldn't mind a mapsettings.cfg file if you're happy to post it, I think my map version is 855.2883

I am using the latest 860_3100 map, I saved a route to make a working map settings file but then realised I cant just upload it as an attachment, as most of the other forums will do.
I tried several times using the megaupload filebox but this returns an "error please try again" message!
Any ideas to get around this would be helpfull, I suppose I could email it to you if you send me your address by PM.

G'day Crabber, how did you get Garmin working on your system. Are you able to upload an image?

    Cheers mate,

But in saying that I found an old TT6 version which works just fine but will not run the latest maps. Have installed igo8, amigo, sygic & R66 all working great, go figure!!! and at the end of the day I will leave TT7 out for now.

    Typan,

Could you show the link to get Sygic to work with 7" Chinese 2-din Wince 6 128MB?

    Thanks.

    Default TomTom on WinCE6

    Hi there,

my Chinese GPS WinCE6/128 works with TomTom v7.910.
    See this instruction.
    " 7.910 (9185) WinCE 6.0/5.0/4.2 incl. WinCE5 Emulator"
The method described uses a CE5 Emulator
    Create a new TT7 Navigator.mcr-file with the CE5-Emulator.
It seems difficult but follow the YouTube tutorial and you will success.
    BTW:
You can only get TT v7.910 working on your Chinese GPS gadget, but no other TT.version.
Hope this hint will help you.

Better to run iGO8 or Primo.

A download of each in the iGO section with Oz maps etc (under September backup)
Less issues and gives imo a better Navi.

    Hi all,

Thread resurrection time,,, I am afraid

I have the Windows v5.00 CE. - Chinese origin.
Running IGO8, which I can't get along with happily.
I thought it had 4 GB memory, but now I realise it is also 128 MB ram, and the rest is "other memory.

So, now I find myself in the same boat, but fortunately, I am running Windows 5.00CE and not Windows 6.00CE, which seems to be the problem version.

    Any updates most gratefully appreciated.

There are so few WindowsCE 5.0 units with 128MB of RAM that you may have problems finding anyone who has got one. All I can say is that TomTom on WinCE 5.0 with 64MB RAM works perfectly and does not need any of the workarounds that running it on CE 6.0 requires. So all you can do is try it and see. But as others have said why bother? The Win CE version of TomTom is old and outdated and does not have any of the extras like lane guidance and smart routes etc. that we now take for granted. Sure you can use the latest maps but that's about all.

    Cheers, Ian
