    Default IGO Sats and Alt startup issue

    On my wifes new double din I have loaded my 800x480 working iGO8.3.4 R17 maps (oz)
    Starts up ok, shows position BUT ALT is 0. and sats is 0.

    If I Exit from within IGO and restart all shows.
    If I untick GPS box in Settings and retick all comes back in cockpit.

    I have tried forcing a few diff baud rates, (unit works with them all?) in sys.txt, adding nmea, siRf etc but that has no effect on the issue.

    Any clues?

    my chinese gps works on 3 different port/baud rates but ONLY ONE works properly on all gps programs with no dropouts and correct info shown.

    have you checked "auto" in gps settings and let igo find the port/baud itself? it was the way i found out that igo prefers port1/baud4800 not the baud11xxxx/port2 that is supposed to be the units default.

    worth a try

    I think the baud 57600, not 57800, mine d/din port 2 baud 38400. Try to replace antenna may help.

    Where did you place the antenna, sometimes replace position or disconnect then reconnect cable should help.

    Ant is on dash in direct sky view.

    So Ant catch good sig, i don't think problem with Ant, maybe you could try format the card and reload again see what's happen? if still not, try differance iGO like Primo. Or on iGO sys.txt remove [GPS] and leave empty.

    Your thinking like me

    Ive done that (not Primo) but other Igo 's etc.
    Removed all ref to GPS as well.
    Must be some thing where Igo relates back to the gps card in the unit , may be something in a ui file.

    You know what's your device name? open data.zip/config/devices copy or modify to there.

    did you tried GPS auto detect? what port and baud rate your unit use?

    [gps]
    port=2
    baud=4800

    add that on your sys.txt and change the numbers to what your unit uses..

    Yes, done all those things. Unit works on port2 any baud rate.
    Auto finds 57800 from memory.
    Im wondering if its a Win 6.0 thing talking back to gps card?

    Igo has a problem with reading the SD card after waking up from sleep causing the gps to run real slow and eventually when the SD card is ready, the GPS signal has timed out causing the gps not found error. If you look in your crash.txt file you will find there is an entry describing that Igo couldn't find the basemap.
    To fix this up either use a smaller SD card <= 4GB or if you want a larger capacity card make sure it is atleast class 6 (C6) speed.
    This problem only happens when Igo is put to sleep(auto power off) and you have a slow HDSD card.

    No, its not that. Something to do with win 6 ce maybe?

    It works fine, just doesnt show sats or Alt unless you stop and restart either program or gps feed.

    I have a very similar problem with a iphone shaped unit. It has a centrality atlas IV 533MHz cpu running CE6
    It navigates OK but the gps info page freezes after a while and altitude stops.
    Skins also don't show any gps info. Another inbuilt GPS program shows GPS is running fine. Tried removing DEM and speed camera database, but no improvement. 'just another mystery'
