Flashcarts suitable for the DSi will work fine in DS lite, but not the other way around...

Once the cartridge is setup and working, the games are all the same..no difference for DS lite to DSi.

The only thing not to do is an online firmware update with the DSi...disables the flashcarts apparently..although I'm not 100% sure.

I have an Acekard 2i, but there are plenty of other brands around. If you haven't got the cartridges yet I'd do it soon....Nintendo are cracking down on sellers...Deal Extreme don't list them on their website anymore...The local (Chinese) computer shop still sells them here, and even offers to set them up with games on! (very dodgy illegal!!!)

Buying, Selling and Owning a DS flash card is not illegal. Keeping it legal is using it only as a back up for games you originally own, and still own. (So you can't go and sell your game and have another copy) It is illegal as soon as you upload a game on your flash card that you do not already own. Also Nintendo can only crack down on sellers that sell the cards that have "500 games pre-loaded" or whatever they do to advertise their product. It is pretty safe to purchase and it isn't like a police officer will take your DS off you and check if you have downloaded games that you don't own and than charge you. Even downloading a ROM is legal. So its pretty safe. :P
